EV Charger Installation Cost Breakdown

Estimated installation costs across Naples, Marco Island, Estero, and Bonita Springs, FL.

Please note: These prices are estimates based on average Naples homes. Factors like panel capacity, attic access, conduit length, and permit fees will alter your final quote. Contact us for an exact assessment.

1. Level 1 vs. Level 2 EV Wiring Costs

Level 1 charging uses a standard 120V outlet (adding 3–5 miles per hour). Level 2 charging requires a dedicated 240V circuit and adds 25–44 miles of range per hour.

  • Level 2 Dedicated Circuit Install (Short Run): $450 – $850 (excluding charger hardware).
  • Level 2 Extended Conduit Run (Longer Distance): $900 – $1,800.

2. Hardwired Tesla Wall Connector vs. NEMA 14-50 Receptacle

Homeowners in Estero and Bonita Springs can choose between two main installation formats:

  • Hardwired Tesla Wall Connector (60A Circuit / 48A Charging): $550 – $950 installation labor. Hardwiring provides maximum charging speed and weather resistance.
  • Plug-in NEMA 14-50 Outlet (50A Circuit / 40A Charging): $400 – $750 installation labor. Requires a heavy-duty industrial-grade receptacle (Hubbell or Bryant) to prevent heat melting under continuous load.

3. Distance Factor: Heavy Copper Wire Pricing

Level 2 EV chargers require 6-gauge or 4-gauge heavy copper wiring. If your electrical panel is on the opposite side of your home or garage, running thick copper wire through attic spaces or exterior conduit adds approximately $6 to $14 per linear foot.

4. Panel Upgrade Bundling Discounts

If your home has a 100-amp panel, adding a 50-amp EV circuit may require a 200-amp electrical panel upgrade. Bundling your panel upgrade with your EV charger installation saves $300 to $600 in combined permit fees and labor.
